The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV
June 27 2022,
The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV is entering a whole new generation, and it’s doing so with a new model: the 2022 Bolt EUV. Consumers can now choose between the electric sedan or its SUV version for a higher stance and a more spacious second row.
Find out more about the Bolt’s new design, the new EUV model, and their performance and technology.
The Redesigned Bolt
Since it’s a new generation, the Bolt gets a makeover. It has a more modern look with:
- A reworked front end
- Slimmer headlights
- New wheels
- And more.
Inside, the seats are also reshaped for more comfort, incorporating standard heated front seats as well as 8-way power adjustment for the driver. Critics also point to the fact that they are better padded.
Another piece of good news is that the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV has a reduced price compared to previous years. The Bolt EV Canada now starts at $40,098, approximately $6,800 less than before, and is also qualified for both government grants.
A Larger SUV: The Bolt EUV
Despite all the interest in the Bolt, it is impossible to ignore the importance of SUVs in today’s market. That’s why the American automaker is coming up with a new electric SUV, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV.
This one is presented in two versions, LT and Premier, the latter incorporating some additional technologies and comfort features, such as:
- Leather upholstery
- Ventilated front seats
- Heated rear seats
- Ambient lighting in the doors, etc.
The Chevrolet Bolt EUV starts at $42,098 for the LT version or $45,598 for the Premier.
What often pushes towards the SUV is the increased passenger space; thanks to its extended body and wheelbase, the vehicle offers 35 mm more legroom in the back.
On the cargo side, there’s very little difference. The Bolt EV offers a generous 470 L to 1,614 L of space with the seats down; on the other hand, the Bolt EUV offers 462 L in its trunk and 1,611 L of total cargo capacity.
Despite some differences in size and options, the Bolt EUV is based on the same platform as the Bolt and has the same features.
Electric Performance and Comfortable Driving
Both vehicles are powered by the same electric drivetrain, powered by a 65-kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing to deliver an instantaneous 201 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque.
In addition to generous power, the cars also offer a comfortable ride.
“It is fast and energetic and good news: GM has worked on its suspension.
It’s smoother and more comfortable than the model it replaces.”
Gilles Pilon, L’Annuel de l’automobile
Given the size differences, range varies slightly. The 2022 Bolt EV has a maximum range of 417 km. On the other hand, the Bolt EUV has a range of up to 397 km without interruption.
